In that month, Arthur Koestler, writing in the New York Times, published a monumental essay titled, “The Nightmare that Is Reality,” describing the madness of screaming the truth about the unfolding Holocaust in Germany. Very good podcast. Unfortunately, the more dots you connect and the more narratives begin to plausibly converge, the more insane you’re going to appear to your normal friends and associates. You can’t very well go to a party and say “I think we’re under an American Cultural Revolution” and the Marxists have spent the last 50 years arranging all their pieces on the chessboard and are springing the trap now.” I find myself trying to pick change someone’s mind about even a small detail about our current reality and find that virtually nothing lands with those on the left. Or, I try to dissuade people on the right from being gullible in regards of silly distractions and that seems to change little.
He makes a good point about “show me the evidence.” People ask me that quite often and it is so obviously insincere.
As to which “conspiracy theorists” are correct and which are cons, who do you think killed JFK?
That’s who the CIA invented the term to invalidate; and they were right.
