The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 227
The way the Nazis regarded themselves and their ideology is a fascinating story of differentiation and elevation, a kind of therapeutic balm for a humiliated national psyche. Nowhere is this ideological foundation more thoroughly elaborated upon than in Alfred Rosenberg’s Myth of the Twentieth Century, published in 1930. It was set to the task of laying out the underlying “myth of the blood” upon which Nazi thought was at least partially based. Here on the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay has been taking listeners through portions of this strange book in this Myth of the Blood series, which is derivative to his longer Nazi Experiment podcast series. In this episode, he takes the listener through the end of the third chapter of Rosenberg’s bizarre tome to illustrate how the Nazis distinguished themselves not just racially but ideologically from the Chinese, Indians, and Jews while explaining the “Luciferian” (his term) nature of the Nazi project. Join him for another eye-opening exploration of Nazi thought.
