New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 67
Given recent events in the Middle East, in which Woke Marxists throughout the world have indicated their total alignment with Palestine against Israel even in light of atrocities, the idea of “decolonization” is back in the center stage. Academics and activists across the West are not only celebratory of the violence in Israel; they are also mocking the general public for failing to realize that “decolonization” is intrinsically a violent, brutal process. What’s going on here? Where do these ideas come from? The answer is that these ideas come from a postcolonialist named Frantz Fanon, who wrote his radical and troubling books in the 1950s and 1960s. These have become the academic gold standard for generations of radicals ever since. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay reads through French Marxist Jean-Paul Sartre’s famous summary of Fanon’s Wretched of the Earth and shows that decolonization is little more than a Gnostic rebirth ritual perpetrated through murder. Join him to understand this reaction as well as the so-called “strange death of Europe” and what we have in store as the postcolonial aspect of Woke Marxism fully awakens.

Decolonisation. What does that have to do with Israel? Israeli aren’t colonising anything. They never have.
You are absolutely correct.
James Lindsay should do a read-through analysis of this Students for a Democratic Society’s (SDS) 1969 manifesto, which was a blueprint for the Millennials/GenZ Red Guard generation:
“You Don’t Need A Weatherman To Know Which Way The Wind Blows”
by [Obama mentor] Bill Ayers [et al] in “New Left Notes”, June 18, 1969:
“The most important task for us toward making the revolution, and the work our collectives should engage in, is the creation of a mass revolutionary movement, without which a clandestine revolutionary party will be impossible. A revolutionary mass movement is different from the traditional revisionist mass base of ‘sympathizers.’ Rather it is akin to the Red Guard in China, based on the full participation and involvement of masses of people in the practice of making revolution; a movement with a full willingness to participate in the violent and illegal struggle.”

“From the Weathermen standpoint, [mass murderer Charles] Manson was heroic. He understood the corruption of the system and the revolutionary act of random killings creating terror. [Obama mentor Ayers’ wife Bernadette] Doran’s cell adopted a four-finger salute symbolizing the fork with which [one of Manson’s murder victims] was stabbed.
For those who wonder how the concept of white privilege entered the political process, consider that the Weathermen considered all white babies to be ‘tainted with the original sin of “skin privilege.”’ In the Weathermen view, ‘all white babies are pigs.’ Acts of violence against white children was justice.” [Yet another SDS blueprint used in 2023 by Western Leftist and “progressive” Hamas supporters as justification for the atrocities and slaughter of Jewish “white oppressor” women, children, old people and “white pig” babies].

An epitaph for the Millennial/GenZ Red Guard generation:
”To those of us who have been paying attention to social trends among elite youth over the past 10 years, none of this [support for Hamas] comes as a shock. Middle- and upper-class American youth – seemingly en masse – have transformed from a fun-loving, diverse and optimistic bunch into a seething monolith that is obsessed with utterly toxic notions of privilege, skin colour and ‘decolonisation’.
That they have become Hamas apologists makes a grim kind of sense. After all, these people live in a bubble of poisonous ideology and are fed racial self-loathing from kindergarten. To many self-styled radicals, any non-white person wielding an assault rifle must be doing something righteous. Any act of terror is an unmissable opportunity to show off one’s edginess on social media.
The actions of the anti-Israel left are far more significant than mere culture-war fodder. They are dead canaries in a coal mine. They are a telling sign that rich nations are eating themselves alive. And that the supposedly most enlightened, peace-loving, diversity-celebrating generation in history has adopted values that are totally hostile to reason and tolerance.
We are far more lost as a society than any of us could have imagined.”
Jenny Holland, “How the educated elites became Hamas apologists” spiked-online.com
“The desire to build a risk-free society has always been a sign of decadence. It has meant that the nation has given up, that it no longer believes in its destiny, that it has ceased to aspire to greatness, and has retired from history to pet itself.”
Henry Fairlie
These people really scare me. We have mounds of historical evidence proving what they preach is poison yet they somehow draw in new recruits
I don’t think James should blame Gnosticism for criminal personalities and behaviors.
The purpose of this violent decolonization narrative is obvious: It enables neo-Marxists (the ‘woke’ Left) to support violence anywhere that it is useful to their aims (discrediting Trump’s Abraham Accords, undermining historical religious Judaism, undermining modern bourgeois Judaism), allowing justification of said violence as part of a decolonizing resistance that may exist. Marxism uses every form of deception to justify every sort of violence to in order to throw off every authority or system of order, and establish chaos in its place; it is not only anti-religious, but simultaneously antihumanist and antitheist while purporting to be humanist; that is its intrinsic deception.
Hence my belief that Marxists are bad people. It may be a gross over-generalization but I’m basing my opinion on the belief system.

You are not making making a gross overgeneralization: Marxists ARE bad people – by design.
Read Stephen Hicks’ “Explaining Postmodernism” (pdf version plus audio files of Hicks reading chapter by chapter are at his web site). An extraordinary book quoted from and recommended by James Lindsay in his book “Race Marxism” and what a find. Hicks’ brief (200 page) book is an incredibly succinct, densely packed but clearly written, brilliant summation of all the iterative antecedent ideas of Philosophy from the post-Enlightenment forward to the postmodernism of our current Woke moment and how and why these ideas logically resulted in the unkillable virus of toxic Leftism and the academics who spread prop it.
Astonishing to me was Hicks presentation of the Counter Enlightenment’s basic premises which spawned postmodernism and Woke. Understanding the origins of this development explains everything about our current Woke moment. Why is the Left (Woke) so deliberately and infuriatingly anti-rational and illiberal? It’s by design. That’s what the Counter Enlightenment was all about: anti-reason, anti-individualism, anti-objectivity and hatred of liberalism, the four cornerstones of the classically liberal Enlightenment rejected by Kant and all subsequent Counter-Enlightenment and postmodern philosophers.
Hicks documents how the Counter Enlightenment philosophers replaced reason with emotion, individualism with collectivism, objectivity with subjectivity, and liberalism with socialism. Subjective emotion became a new form of metaphysics and collective Socialism became its religion by providing a new definition of God (pure Manichean Gnosticism) with collectivist man as divinely good and individualist man’s liberalism as the evil demiurge) with the State as the new Socialist utopian heaven on Earth battling Liberalism’s demonic evil.
The more I read the ideas of philosophers from Kant onwards (especially the unreadable Nazi fanboy Heidegger whose “Da sein” concept is almost comically diabolical), the more I think: What does any of this pretentious puffed-up gasbag blathering have to do with the price of eggs? Meaning, what is it all for, other than being an emotionally disturbed form of bizarre cerebral masturbation for coteries of overpampered esthetes with way too much time on their hands? These philosophers’ ideas have nothing to do with real human nature and lived human lives other than to make ordinary people’s lives horrible by the real world consequences of the political, social and cultural application of their ideas, i.e., Leftism, Marxism, Socialism, Communism, Wokeism, etc.
Since the ideas and influence of these Counter Enlightenment/postmodernist philosophers has not merely been 100% negative to all human life of Earth for everyone except the Elysium ruling elites, philosophers themselves, academics and bureaucratic overseers of the collectivist State, I, as a non-religious person, have come of the inescapable conclusion that this new Counter Enlightenment/postmodernist “religion” and its non-metaphysical consequences (hundreds of millions of people murdered by Leftist “utopian” States) is not merely a metaphor but is literally Evil.
“[Black radical professor] Tommy Curry [formerly of Texas A&M state university who now] holds a distinguished personal chair in ‘Africana Philosophy & Black Male Studies’ at Edinburgh’s faculty of Philosophy [wrote on Twitter:] ‘Phallicism or the simultaneous construction of racialized males as the rapist while they are subject to rape & sexual violence remains an undertheorized aspect of race/gender theory despite being observable in every theatre of war & colonial oppression such as Palenstine (sic)’… [Curry also wrote in an academic paper:] ‘the white woman cries out for rape’…”
“What we are now seeing is the ultimate conclusion of the morally idiotic victim/oppressor framework, in which the Bad People are those with power, and the Good People are those without it. In this scheme, the line between good and evil passes not through each human heart, but between identity groups. This concept has been thoroughly mainstreamed in Western institutions under the guise of ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’. The Hamas backers were simply applying this logic to the events in Israel. Because the Israelis are alleged oppressors, and the Palestinians are allegedly oppressed, anything the Palestinians choose to do to the Israelis in the name of self-liberation is just.”
Rod Dreher, “What the ‘Hamas Holocaust’ Reveals About the West’s Corruption: When will we talk about the death-loving homegrown radicals we have coddled and indulged within our leading institutions of thought and culture?” europeanconservative.com
Fanon was originaly from Martinique , went back to fight fir their independance.
He also wrote several books on the mental issues of black women who sleep with white men . He had three black women testimonies …he made up two of them …black panthers like eldredge cleaver , who wrote soul on ice , got into this .
Fanon was an sob , how chumpy of sarte
Perhaps I’m inflamed by outrage (at current events) but I was always struck by how disingenuous is the tone of Fanon and decolonisation, in general (like much of Leftist Theory really). They write in the abstract and detached style of arbitrators, philosophers and referees as if above it all, but at the same time, they’re obviously deeply partisan.
One has to wonder what this ostensible detachment, this coolness, is a compensation for, and in Fanon’s case, it’s obviously for a raging blood lust.
I think it was Nietzsche who said something about where there’s a cool mind there’s a hot heart. In other words, don’t trust these intellectuals.
I am also “inflamed by outrage” at the atrocities in Israel but also by the reaction of Leftists and their savage proxies who are literally giddy with blood lust.
Jean-Paul Sartre was the personification of hyper-Oikophobia (“a tendency to criticize or reject one’s own culture and praise other cultures”). Sartre’s preface to “Wretched of the Earth” is the definitive screed of vile loathing against the Western world that became the Rosetta Stone of academic Leftist dogma since the 1960s.
This week all over the world, Sartre’s words are being screamed in the streets by rabid Leftist mobs (of academics, unions, students, politicians, media) convulsing with almost sexual ecstasy over the murders, tortures, rapes and beheadings in Israel. Every one of their Leftist death chants come directly from the pages of Frantz Fanon’s Malleus Maleficarum of Leftist Vengeance, “Wretched of the Earth”:
“The naked truth of decolonization evokes for us the searing bullets and bloodstained knives which emanate from it. For if the last shall be first, this will only come to pass after a murderous and decisive struggle between the two protagonists. That affirmed intention to place the last at the head of things… can only triumph if we use all means to turn the scale, including, of course, that of violence.”
In keeping with the theme of ‘liberation theology’, decolonisation in its naked form best resembles a secular holy war.
“Wretched of the Earth” is the “Mein Kampf” of the Left.
