We’re being manipulated. It’s true. There are conspiracies around us, but part of the problem is that the people doing the conspiracies have realized that we are prone to thinking everything is a conspiracy, even the stuff that isn’t. Therefore, conspiracy theories have gone meta, in a way. We’re being pushed into more conspiratorial thinking than the real conspiratorial situation warrants, and we’re going bonkers and getting things wrong.
