New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 44
A powerful tool in the Woke Marxist toolbox is something called a “thought-terminating cliché.” These are short, pithy statements, demands, or slogans that are designed to stifle thought in their targets as well as in those saying them. “Check your privilege!” is a good example. So is “Trans women are women!” or “Believe all women!” No doubt, you will have been on the receiving end of hundreds of examples of this kind of damaging non-speech over the last several years, and it’s helpful to have a name for it. Join host James Lindsay for this episode of New Discourses Bullets to learn all about them and their relevance to the Woke movement.

Unfortunately, this analysis follows the common patterns of behavioral psychology.
It is one thing to define behaviors. It is another thing to evaluate behaviors as pro- or anti- survival. And it is yet another thing to change behaviors, particularly if those with anti-survival behaviors don’t really want to survive.
What remains unanswered is: What is really going on? Why would one try to terminate another’s thought processes? This looks like a case of significant evil intention. But what exactly is the intention? We don’t really know.
@Larry Cox: You named it as evil intention…maybe I’m naive, but the results of the behavior appear to be destruction…of the individual, the systems, the society. It’s much more difficult to build than destroy and whether proponents of these techniques recognize the goal or not, they are partners in the evil that is the destruction.
