The Marxification of Education Workshop, Session 3 of 4
The word of the year in education and regarding our children has been “groomer,” which is widely banned across social media now as a result (along with James Lindsay from Twitter for calling this problem out). In the Marxification of education, which is its remaking into a system of Marxist conscientization, schools can be said to have been transformed into groomer schools. Specifically, while the terms “thought reform” and “brainwashing” have been used in the past to describe this process, the term “grooming” is even more applicable given the nature of the process of conscientization, including its specific subject matter. It’s a tremendous problem that demands understanding and a solution. Here, New Discourses Founder James Lindsay summarizes what he means by the term “Groomer Schools” in this third of four presentations on the Marxification of Education delivered in late July 2022 in Arlington, Virginia, on location in the now-famous Loudoun County, ground zero for the fight for America’s schools.
As a result of the research that produced this lecture series, Lindsay has written a detailed and accessible book on the issue titled The Marxification of Education, which is available now.
Session 1: The Critical Turn in Education
Session 2: Paulo Freire’s “Critical” Method of Education
Session 4: Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)

I love the way James outlines, fairly and accurately, the philosophies of György Lukács (and Marx) into 9 steps towards Marxist consciousness.
It was so well-presented that even an ardent Marxist today could hear it and say: “Yep, that’s exactly what I want.”
Censorship of books critical of leftism has begun in earnest. This is terrifying.
Recently, I bought a used copy of Roger Scruton’s “Fools, Frauds & Firebrands: Thinkers of the New Left” cheap off Abebooks and the copy of the book I received was so marked up with underlining and notes on every single page that it was unreadable so I threw it out (cost $3 plus shipping). Although I hate subsidizing their wokeness, I bought a brand new expensive paperback copy ($45!) at the one real-world chain-bookstore left in my city.
While reading (and loving!) the book, I turned a page today and discovered that this brand new expensive copy is missing 17 pages! Pages 153 to 168 are not there! I did not think the missing pages were censorship but instead presumed this copy was another incompetent sloppily assembled mess like most 21st century products which is why I only buy old used editions!
Before I spent money on the book, I went as usual to Internet Archive where I tried to download the book as a pdf for free but the book was in their irritating “borrow by signing up and download using only special pdf format you have to buy” section so I decided I had to purchase the book. After noticing the missing pages today, I went back to Internet Archive to sign up and try to find and download the missing pages since I had seen the book as a pdf on their site only a couple of weeks ago.
While searching for it, I noticed that all mention (search hits) of Scruton’s book at Internet Archive were gone from Duck Duck Go whereas mere weeks ago there were dozens of hits at that site for copies of that book to “borrow” in pdf format. After much searching, I finally found a mention of the book and clicked the link. Internet Archive now says:
“Item not available
The item is not available due to issues with the item’s content. ”
WOW! Scruton’s book blows Marxist Leftists out of the water and he is despised by the left as an anti-leftist intellectual who knew (he’s deceased) more about their leftist con games than they did thus reveals Sartre, Foucault, Lukacs, etc. as “fools and frauds”. Some search engine leftist tech-Inquisitor has identified Scruton’s anti-left book as heresy in the past few weeks and had it “disappeared” from Internet Archive where I saw its existence only weeks before. This is communist China. This is the Soviet Union. This is Kafka. This is not the “free world” any longer.
When I saw the ominous and chilling censor’s note, I felt like Mia Farrow in “Rosemary’s Baby” after she’s secretly drugged by her devil-worshipping husband in preparation to unknowingly “mate” with Satan but wakes up during the act and screams: “This is no dream! This is really happening!” The New Inquisition is not a dream. The New Inquisition is really happening.
Thanks , James.
