Stop doomscrolling. Stop. Just stop. It’s not good for you. It’s not helping. It’s not research. It’s not even making you more aware of what’s going on in the world. So stop it! Doomscrolling is a term for fairly obsessively scrolling through social media or search engine results looking for more and more reasons to believe the world is falling apart, and it is worse than useless. It’s not productive or informative. It’s distracting and anti-productive, paralyzing instead of motivating, demoralizing instead of educational. So don’t do it. Instead, if you’re so inclined, pick something you’re interested in and good at and start digging down doing actual research and learn to present that material in ways others can benefit from. This is the advice I’m offering on this episode of my subscribers-only podcast, James Lindsay OnlySubs. Come check it out!

Doomscrolling can be incredibly draining, and it’s great that this post highlights the need to break free from it. One approach that aligns well with the idea of stopping doomscrolling is digital minimalism (https://studycorgi.com/the-concept-of-digital-minimalism/). By intentionally curating our digital consumption and setting clear boundaries, we can avoid the constant influx of negative information that feeds anxiety. Embracing digital minimalism helps us focus on what truly matters, making space for more meaningful online interactions and healthier mental habits. This philosophy can be a powerful tool in combating the urge to endlessly scroll through distressing news.
Breaking the doomscrolling habit is a process that requires conscious effort and dedication. It is necessary to regain control over your digital habits and cultivate a healthier relationship with information consumption: https://ivypanda.com/blog/doomscrolling-the-new-drug-of-the-21st-century/
Here is a news item that is fun, uplifting, positive, anti-doomscrolling, hopeful and HILARIOUS! Like Matt Walsh’s bestselling trans-challenging childrens’ book, “Johnny the Walrus”, this Canadian bestselling new book, “How the Prime Minister Stole Freedom”, is great for kids because it uses the format of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” to help them learn about the REAL world while letting them laugh out loud at the CLOWN-TYRANT OF THE WORLD Justin Trudeau whose brain is three sizes too small.
from a Canadian youtuber named ‘Clyde Do Something’:
“We did it! You guys came out and drove the book to the number 1 spot on Amazon books. Site wide. How the Prime Minister Stole Freedom is a Dr. Sues[s] type parody of the events of the pandemic and freedom convoy in Canada. It’s a great read, and something you can share with the kids.”

Regarding Woke Capitalism, this is almost beyond parody.
