Night-
Trump was a symptom of an enduring sickness/disequilibrium in American government. I don’t for foresee that changing. Unfortunately, I suspect the polarization of American will continue. I hope not.
History does inform and often repeats. Nothing lasts forever.
That I do agree with although I’m can’t satisfactory identity the problem or the deficiencies of the political establishment. However, in endorsing Trump, are we not as bad as the nihilist Critical Theorists who think that a better world will emerge from acts of pure destruction?
The current great divide in America is being orchestrated by uber-capitalists
making use of “wokies” who mistakenly think they are Marxists.
I will admit to finding a perverse pleasure in seeing liberals froth at the mouth over Trump being POTUS, but upon reflection, in a cold light, I see the Trump phenomenon as a form of near Caesarism (to borrow from Spengler). Quite why strict constitutionalists put faith in a billionaire to take a wrecking ball to the political establishment, but to leave the constitution intact, is a mystery to me. The FFs would never have looked to a potential Caesar to refresh or renew the Republic.
