The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Episode 148

Karl Marx characterized Communism as “the negation of the negation,” which is a peculiar turn of phrase he borrowed from his theoretical predecessor G.W.F. Hegel. What that means is that propertied societies, whether slave, feudal, or capitalist, negate our innate Communist (“social”) nature, and then Communism in turn negates capitalism as the highest form of development of the productive organizational modes of society. Well, the negation of the negation experiment was run in various parts of the world through the 20th century and failed everywhere, and what we learned is that the negation of the negation is actually either collapse and then control by an oligarchy or, in other cases, Fascism. These two can be synthesized to create a negation of the negation of the negation, so to speak, that takes Communism as the theoretical ideal and “basic spirit” of historical development while utilizing Fascism as its practical mode of production, and that’s exactly what we see in China following the rise of Deng Xiaoping. It’s also exactly what we see in the West under the ESG scoring model for corporate behavior and the United Nations Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals that it services. In this important episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay makes the development of “Communism 3.0,” a Corporatist Communism for the 21st century clear. You won’t want to miss it.

As a non-expert unable and unwilling to devote weeks to original manuscripts, my impression of the quoted works of Hegel and Marx is of tangles of dark matter, or junk DNA, sparsely salted with resolvable units of meaning. I’m sure this is part true, part misunderstanding, and partly due to intentional obscurantism by the abusive authors.
JL prodigiously digests the dreck, but I suggest it’s past time for experts to deliver an AI to illuminate the hidden buried meanings starting from any part of the text, including its extension into current propaganda. Only such a tool could center a network on any node of confusing language and map its explanatory antecedents, exposing nonsense, swindles, unfounded assertions and the lot. Make enhanced reality for the ubiquitous communist garbage we must navigate.

I wonder how fair it is to still claim that Chinese industry can only imitate and not innovate on account of its overall Communist party control.

There is said to be a great deal of innovation in the tech-hub city of Shenzhen, for example, due to a critical mass of entrepreneurs and firms. Their EVs and drones are making great progress and are way ahead of the West’s.

As for the Hegal in this podcast. Please make it stop! 😀

I have been saying to people that communism today is really more like fascism and Deng Xiaoping like Lenin realized that capitalism was needed to create cash flow for the regime because nothing can come from nothing.

In our world today the oligarchs and corporations have merged with the state in public-private partnerships, the private sector aids the public sector in both propping up the regime with cash and with punishing the citizens through censorship and canceling a dissedent’s right to earn a living, and so on.

Lindsay is saying it too! This is reaffirming!

But do take a page from the left’s playbook: use the most hurtful and damaging slurs to describe them; do not call them communists because that isn’t a slur any longer. Call these motherfuckers FASCISTS, and do it often.

Many years ago I’ve learned that for the Communism to invade a country, they need it to be Capitalist and democratic in which they did managed to make a few countries into be capitalist and democratic within the last few decades in many places. Once they are, they only need then to infiltrate themselves into their politic system, get into position of power and… change everything drop by drop, step by step and slowly as to make sure the people don’t see those changes happening. When something radical is going to happen and you don’t want the people to not only stop you but you also don’t want all of them upon you all at once, you better make it slowly. Once they’re all in position and ready… you’ll be waking up in a Communist country one day.

“Unlearn your white supremacy” through enforced re-education sponsored by the BC government in collaboration with UBC. It will leave you light, and happy, unless it leads you to despair. Read about it in Quillette.
