Sometimes here on the subscribers-only podcast (that’s James Lindsay OnlySubs), I like to get pretty deep and serious on things I’m still kind of thinking through. This is one of those episodes. I want to dive pretty deeply into the idea of why there’s almost no capacity to communicate across the divide between Marxists (Woke, especially, or otherwise) and virtually everyone else, and it comes down to something far deeper than political disagreement. There are fundamentally two kinds of people in the world, in some sense: those who accept the absolute sovereignty of reality and those who refuse it in favor of some other program. In this episode, I dive into the absolute sovereignty of the Logos, which I interpret (with no offense to Christians) as the comprehensible order of the universe, which is the rock upon which the West was built. I contrast this against the Marxist elevation of the Pathos, as I see it, in a particularly pathological form (as a hurt-feelings-driven Pathos-ocracy). I think this is interesting, and I hope you do too. Join me to explore these ideas with me.
