People are highly attuned to pointing out hypocrisy, and so the blatant double standards the Woke and other Marxists set up for themselves is a tantalizing bait. The thing is, the Woke (and other Marxists) aren’t hypocrites at all. They believe themselves superior. For them, “do as I say, not as I do” isn’t a shortcoming of character but something they believe they have the hard-earned right to demand of others, whom they see as intrinsically lesser. James Lindsay isn’t quite correct.
I used to be angry at hypocrisy too. Then I realized, there is no hypocrisy.
People have hierarchies of values. When there is a seeming conflict, the higher order value wins.
That’s why its okay for antifa to burn down black communities. Its for the greater good and it is recognized as such by those on the left. Since it is correct and true behavior in the hierarchy of valeus, it is not hypocritical to do that and then condemn “whites” who act the same regarding keeping their “white” country and its culture intact.
